Well known as a calming tea, fresh chamomile is unbeatable. Fresh chamomile possesses a distinct apple fragrance with a sweet, earthy flavor.
Fresh chamomile can be steeped as a warm or iced tea, but the entire flower is edible, both the white petals and yellow centers. Add them to salads or as a garnish on roasted meats. They make a delicious addition to desserts. Try them with blueberries in crisps, cobblers and scones or in our herb infused whipped cream.
Chamomile pairs well with herbs such as tarragon, mint, and lavender, spices such as cinnamon, ginger, and peppercorn, citruses such as lemons and oranges, blueberries, strawberries, apples, fennel, and cucumbers.
Use as soon as possible or pluck the blossoms and dry them for future use.
